Wild Blackberry and apple crumble
Autumn has arrived after a glorious summer we had in Ireland this year, honestly it is one of the best summer we have ever had, one that goes down in history as the best summer, the one where we will all talk about for years to come. Every year after the summer I feel so low and I am never ready for autumn, I am not the cosy vibe person, but this year after the beautiful warm summer we have had I feel so ready for the season changes and embracing the cosiness.

One such start of autumn sign are wild blackberries growing everywhere. This year we found a great spot near the wind farms in Wexford, so we took a bucket and decided to collect blackberries. It was such a fun experience for the whole family! Kids loved picking wild blackberries and then I turned it into this gorgeous and delicious apple and blackberry crumble.

This was by far THE BEST crumble I have ever made in my life! I am not even bragging, but well it sure did turn out fantastic and I made it with my five year old, it was such a happy moment baking it with him.

The crumble itself is incredibly easy to bake, if I can do it anyone can it is that simple. The only work is the peeling and chopping part of the crumble but other than that it is soo easy to bake.

You will need one large bowl to mix all the topping ingredients, then a large oven proof dish to add the apples and the blackberries, add the crumble mixture and let the oven do the magic of baking.

We loved it with vanilla ice cream, you can have it with custard too. Warm crumble with ice cream is a match made in autumnal heaven.
